James Edward Bates examines

the beliefs, traditions and activities of the Ku Klux Klan in America, its ongoing history of racism and violence. His photographs - which include the current generation of KKK members donning the white hood - are the result of his seven year involvement with the clan, and represent the beginning of his project into recording and exposing racism throughout

the world.
