Gossip, chat and rumour from the gallery floor

I To mark the 400th anniversary of Cervantes’ novel Don Quixote, the Tramway has invited Lapland, a Glasgow-based collective of artist and designers, to co- curate an exhibition using the novel as creative stimulus. The themes of madness, loneliness, fantasy, reality, friendship and morality, that are explored in the book will be examined in the witty and aesthetically pleasing sculptural and design multiples that the group specialise in from Friday 18 November to Sunday 18 December in Tramway’s Project Room

I Graham McKenzie, the director of the CCA. Glasgow, is leaving to become the artistic director and chief executive of the Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival in January 2006. He’s steered the CCA along a sometimes rocky and idiosyncratic path. and what the centre will become now is anyone's guess. The space does have potential. and there are enough local artists and professionals with international clout to draw on to reinvigorate the beast.

I Cabin Exchange and Glasgow School of Art are looking for ideas, artworks and events to take place in the now famous cabin exchange project, where a 10ft x 8ft industrial storage container becomes a temporary art space. The Exchange 20/20 project was launched on Tuesday 1 November, and it has been proposed that cabins will appear in Dennistoun, Tradeston and Pollockshaws. Sites will be finalised and proposals requested on Friday 9 December, to be in by Friday 20 January 2006. The orginisers require no CVs or previous artistic experience. Send your proposals to cabinexchange©yahoo.co.uk and check out the website at www.cabinexchange.com for more details.

I After scanning and re-scanning this year's ArtReview Power 100 list it appears that no Scottish artists. dealers. collectors or gallerists managed to make the final cut. Damien Hirst made the number one spot. up from 78 last year, Pop fans.
