A produelion team. eight-piece hand and DJ eolleetiye. they haye been around in a number of different guises l‘or about ten years now with this being their third lull length release. not to mention a string ol high prolile remixes under their hells.
You may know them better as (‘ra/y Penis. but alter some deliberation and personal growth. they haye plit their eoek away. so to speak. by: getting rid ol their eonlroyersial ‘enis‘ appendage. ()ne ol' the band‘s original l‘ounder members .lirn Baron is quiek to point out that the name was in no way eonneeted to anyone’s ‘dangly hits' in the group. '\\'e thought we‘d piek a name that was shoeking and easy to remember. A friend of ours had this 7“ reeord ealled "Loeo Pillgtl". a eolloquial translation ol “(‘ra/y Penis". so we deeided to go with the linglish translation. Nothing to do with our genitalia. eertainlyf he laughs.
At that time. (‘ra/y P were a two man show with .lim and eo-l‘ounder (‘hris Todd hauling a hank ol' samplers and a keyboard around the eountry l‘or liye gigs. something they weren’t wholly eoml‘orlahle with as musicians. .»\l‘ter they got signed to Paper Reeordings and the offers to do eyetl more li\ e shows started to Hood in. they got dil'l‘erent l‘riends to eome on hoard until eyentually they became what they are today. ‘ll got to the stage when the name didn't really relileet what was happening within the organisation.~ explains
