While Hiisker Dii’s name gets sporadically referenced in

indie rock lore it doesn’t recognise the level influence they had. They were among half a dozen bands who shaped the last 20 years of rock music. Green Day owe them BIG TIME. Bob Mould left all that behind in the late 805 but makes a return of sorts playing here with a full band and a clutch of songs from that era, some from his time as head honcho in Sugar as well as plenty from his fruitful solo career. Swerving between abrasive howl and plaintive cry, he retains power and soul and this should definitely be something special.
