Who or what is Klang? Well, we know that it is the trio of guys here, messrs Marek Larwood, Greg Davies and Steve Hall, but beyond that, we haven’t got a scooby about the moniker’s origins. But we do like them, that much is true. During their 2005 Fringe appearance, we called Larwood a ‘bulging-eyed simpleton’, described Davies as ‘imposing and manic’ and reckoned Hall was ‘the master of the crap accent’. These are all good things. The P/easance Cabaret Bar, Edinburgh, Tue 28 Feb.

D’you know what? It’s cold, wet and miserable outside. I could do with a laugh Funny you should mention that; there's a spanking new weekly comedy club opening its doors at Edinburgh's Arcade Bar that could be just the ray of sunshine you require. Another comedy club? But I’ve only just recovered from the Fringe Ah. but Capital Comedy isn't just another one of your common-or- garden showcases for up-and- coming turns. Granted, the weekly show features the uSual line—up of a compere. two support acts and a headliner. but that's where the similarity ends. The magnificent twist is that every penny of the 84 entry fee goes to charity. So you’re helping good causes while getting a top night out into the bargain? Sure thing. The organisers, led by the intrepid Mac Star (pictured) are currently seeking a number of Charities to get involved with the shows. the plan being to flag up a nominated Charity over a four- week period so plenty of people get the chance to show their suppon. Sounds like a great idea. Personally, I can’t stand being harassed on the streets by students in tabards You're not the only one. And at such a meagre price with such top-notch rising stars as Billy Kirkwood. Gus Tawse. Sully O'Sullivan and Dougie Munro lined up to perform, you'd be hard pushed to track down a more worthwhile night out. (Allan Radcliffe)
