The Coen Brothers' movie 0’ Brother Where Art Thou? may have sparked some attention in bluegrass music

and Hayseed Dixie might be getting it in the back door with their rockgrass madness but it is outfits like this southern Californian trio that keep people coming back for more. Armed with mandolin, guitar, fiddle and three harmonious voices, they manage to wrangle a whole raft of different sounds and influences, be it the wistfulness of the Jayhawks, the measured growl of Queens of the Stone Age or the soulful beat of classic Trojan reggae.
