V FOR VENDETTA

Fantasy action movies always have a hook. The Matrix had the 3D kung fu silliness, Spider Man had the webbed wonder minus his mask but V for Vendetta, the adaptation of Alan Moore’s genius comic book about a Guy Fawkes-alike bomber taking London to task, has Natalie Portman sporting a crew cut. Not usually the stuff that guarantees big box office receipts perhaps, but given the record of patchy Moore adaptations in the past - From Hell and The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen - Portman’s breathtaking looks may be the most notable feature of the film.
