Music news that can 't quite be bothered starting an Arctic Monkeys backlash yet.

I He was Mull Historical Society but Colin Macintyre will be going under his own name from now. One of his first sojourns will be a charity shindig in aid of Red Cross. The show takes place at Cabaret Voltaire on Thursday 20 April and is part of a series of three shows the charity is planning throughout the year. See rock and pop listings on page 73 for full details.

I No jokes about bird flu here. peeps. as we love Fife. and that's why we recommend a jaunt up north to this year's Fence Homegame. The two-day musical smorgasbord unites musicians from all over the shop Scotland. Europe and beyond! and while the official event itself sold out long ago all the artists performing at the main event in Anstruther and Cellardyke over 22 and 23 April will be playing shows elsewhere around town at the Fringe. so nobody misses out. Fringe tickets are a mere 5220 each and can be obtained via the Fence website. fencerecordscom. Among those confirmed to play are King Creosote, M Craft. Adam Beatie. the Earlies. the Pictish Trail, Things in Herds and many, many, many more.

I Tickets will have more than likely been snapped up for Patti Smith’s tiny one-off show at Glasgow’s Mitchell Library on Wednesday 19 April but on the chance that there are some floating about, her 90-minute solo show featuring songs and poetry should be something special. Tickets are available from the CCA on 0141 352 4900.
