ls Scotland ready for its new Mylo? No? Well, tough luck, you have him and his name is Chris Lake. Although originally from Norwich, Lake has lived near Aberdeen for the past decade, and his electro-house productions on his own Rising Music label have brought praise from across the country. The forthcoming single ‘Changes’ has been signed to Universal and played by the likes of Zane Lowe, Pete Tong and Annie Mac, and looks set to launch Lake on a similar career trajectory to the man from Skye.

How did you first get into music?

I went to some small pub in Peterhead in 2000. and this DJ ~ Mark. who's now one ol my best mates - was playing progressive house to all these people who lost didn't want to listen. But I fell in love with it and started DJing myself. and not long after I realised that production would be the best way to get my name out there. With things going well, aren‘t you tempted to decamp somewhere busier anytime soon?

I know there isn't much to do in Aberdeen and the airport's annoying to fly from but I live in the cOuntn and I quite like the peaceful Surroundings. London's about the only place I'd gain an advantage. but I'd sooner stick an exhaust pipe to in, mOuth That's pretty much what yOu do when yOu live there. isn‘t it? David Pollocki
