Urban learning Space is Scotland‘s first learning lab, focus- ing on designing transformational learning experiences and supporting creativity and innovation among Scotland's businesses and communities to create wealth and well being. Based at The Lighthouse in Glasgow’s city centre, we are a small technology focused team committed to the development of projects which encourage social collabora- tion and networking.

We require a developer to help us create a number of Web 2.0 based applications for new projects and to repurpose existing learning tools across other projects. The role will involve separating common lunctionalities and UI ele- ments, defined in a Functional Specification, into reusable modules whilst helping to implement consistent look, feel and user experience across all applications.

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic graduate or dynamic self-starter, able to make decisions, think for themselves and show imagination and flair. Depending on the right candidate there may be an opportunity to extend the contract in 2007.

Digital Publisher

We are looking for a talented digital entrepreneur to develop The List's commer— cial activities online and in other new media. The successful candidate

will lead a new division within Scotland's leading arts. entertainment and lifestyle publications. consolidating and building on the company‘s current activrties.

The List Online is able to draw on all the existing editorial and listings content in The List magazine. our supplements and guides as well as rolling out new digital services including e-newsletters. blogs. podcasts. online promotions and user

generated content.

This new role will involve building revenue streams from digital publishing. maxi- mizing content distribution and use. and ensuring The List participates in new modes and models of publishing. The Digital Publisher will head up the core dig- ital publishing division with an Online Editor and a small set of technology and software resources. including an in-house Software Developer. as well as work—

ing closely with the other staff and freelance contributors.

The successful applicant should demonstrate regular use of current digital pub— lishing technologies. have a strong grasp of emerging commercial realities of

new media and good marketing skills.

Digital publishing experience is essential. It is equally important to possess strong creative vision. commercial initiative. technology awareness. project man- agement skills and the ability to deliver results. An understanding of the arts.

entertainment and lifestyle scene would be an advantage.

The job will be based in the The List's busy Edinburgh office.
