LEARNING A .FPBFIGNEANGUA9E,

There are several reasons for taking on an extra course on top of an already hectic lifestyle. It’s either for those who are natu- rally arty, musical or intellectual and comes as standard or pos- sibly for those wishing to kickstart off a beautiful new career. OK, a slight presumption but you can’t say that you haven’t thought about it.

This led me to book a weekend course at Leith School of Art concentrating on lino prints, something I’d always wanted to do but put off. Printing may sound like a simple idea and there are some highly-respected works by masters such as Picasso and more modern day Scottish artists such as screen printer, Ashley Cooke. It was really useful to see the work you had produced in the context of several others. It involved a level of concentration and focus to co-ordinate the layering of several various ink-cov- ered panels of out. Not a taxing but a relaxing way to spend a few hours and produce encouraging responses from your fellow classmates.

So go on and pick a course from those flagged up on the next few pages. You only get as much as you put in. I’ll let you know something, now you’ve seen the picture perhaps this is the start of a beautiful career!
