We're busy preparing for the 2007 edition of The List's annual Eating & Drinking Guide. We’d like to hear from anyone with suitable editorial and writing skills who would be interested in being part of the team that produces the guide.

We are looking for the ability to check, edit and style submitted material accurately and effectively, manage the work of contributors and turn around copy to tight deadlines in January, February and March 2007. You should also be able to compose sharp, concise and original prose as well as display thoroughness and accuracy in researching information. We would expect to see evidence of your knowledge of food and drink in general, as well as your familiarity with the eating out scene in Glasgow and/or Edinburgh. You will also need to have reliable access to email and the web and be computer literate.

All work is on a part-time, freelance basis.

The List is recruiting for a part-time Production Assistant to work in its busy Production department. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing, designing and setting adverts submitted to the magazine and work in close partnership with the Advertising department. You will also take part in the updating of The List website.

This is a job that requires flexibility, commitment and an aptitude for both technical and design challenges.

Experience with DTP packages including Quark Xpress, Adobe C82 (Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat Professional) applications is essential. Knowledge and proven use of HTML, website content management systems and a full, clean driving license will be an advantage.

The position is part-time with a salary according to expe- nence.

In February 2005 the first Minister announced an initiative, backed by the Scottish Executive, to stage a Biennial celebration of design in Scotland's six City regions: Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Dundee, lnverness, Glasgow and Stirling.

You Will have a degree, preferably in marketing or related disopline and knowledge/understanding of the full marketing mix, including direct marketing, advertising, PR, audience development and new media marketing.
