Residing as they were for many years, in a world where

" '- 7' indie rock was the dominant music form around them, Joey Burns and John Convertino did well to resist, instead, digging themselves out a very particular groove with the ever evolving Calexico sound. Based nominally on the bare, sun-bleached bones of grizzled, griddled country, over the years they’ve got flirty with mariachi flavours, frail soul balladry, rock thunder and even momentary flourishes of post- rock fire. All of which goes to suggest that this is one of the most bewitching and original live shows you’ll find anywhere.
