MUSIC TOURING ACROSS SCOTLAND

Tune up is an intitiative of the Scottish Arts Council to support music touring accross Scotland. It is funded by the National Lottery and was established in 2003. It aims to bring quality live music to communities the length and breadth of the country. Particular emphasis is on unique artistic collaborations and imaginative proposals for touring to remote areas and to those that do not usually benefit from a varied range of the highest quality music. A significant fund is available to support tours for 2007-2008 in Scotland with up to 15% available for dates in other parts of the UK. Applicants are encouraged to work with local communities whilst on tour and interact with schools and outreach programmes.

Yes. Tune Up is open to all artists and individuals working within music. Overseas artists and those working in other parts of the UK and Ireland are encouraged to partner with Scottish based music organisations to produce their tours. Individual Scottish venues can work together to suggest a project and artists agents managers and record companies can apply directly to the fund.
