The Beta Band never quite got the respect, attention or

" 3* 9‘ *3 " sales they deserved; they were just one of those bands that trod their own wayward path and never quite fitted into anyone’s pigeon hole. The Aliens, while containing two former members of The Beta Band have retained elements of their previous incarnation - an ear for a wistful melody for one thing - but are decidedly more excitable. Coming over all Crosby, Stills and Nash meet The Specials and Donovan uptown, their debut album Astronomy For Dogs is as giddy as they come, though their sense of humour never gets in the way of a startlingly good tune.
