Tinariwen

The blues knows no boundaries. Geographical, musical, cultural it is the one musical force that, a century after its invention, remains as restless and bewitching as ever. While the big,

established names may have worked their way into well-worn grooves, it takes acts like Tinariwen to take that energy and push things fomard. They are explorers of the blues in its most liberal sense, the first band of their ilk to pick up electric guitars. They formed out of camps of Tuareg rebels in Mali and create sonorous, politically-charged songs that resonate convincingly whichever continent they are played on.
