I Lulu, at Edinburgh’s Tigerlily, plays host to a special charity club night called lglu on Saturday 30 June. The event is hoping to attract 300 clubbers to raise money for Marie Curie Cancer Care. Tickets are £10, which includes one free raffle ticket. With all DJs, venue and prizes being donated all money raised on the night goes to the Marie Curie Hospice in the capital’s Fairmilehead.

I Save the Children have launched a DVD entitled Unjust Treatment, which seeks to highlight the horrors facing young people seeking asylum who are detained in Dungavel and other UK detention centres. The film was researched, scripted and filmed by a group of young people who were all personally affected by the issue, conducting the interviews with children and their parents about their distressing detention experiences. Susan Fisher, Save the Children’s Assistant Programme Director said, ‘Save the Children is again calling for the detention of children who have sought safety in Britain to end.
