iiXMMER HORROR

British film studio Hammer is best-known for being a veritable factory for pioneering horror cinema in the 505. 605 and 705 and making international stars of Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing. This glossy book tells of the half century of work Hammer put in to produce everything from The Nanny with Bette Davis and Raquel Welch stone age thriller One Million Years BC to Frankenstein Must Be Destroyed and Dracula (which returns to cinema screens on Friday 2 November). Tim Burton, George Lucas and Martin Scorsese are among those who proclaim their love for Hammer films and this book tells the complete story for the first time. In addition, the Falkirk Wheel this month hosts an exhibition of Hammer art and memorabilia to celebrate this blood curdling golden jubilee.
