MIDDLETON MAKES MOVES ON

CHRISTMAS NUMBER 1 SPOT

I In a chart awash with X Factor pap and Cliff Richard cast offs, a small unassuming ginger chap from Falkirk has given us a reason to watch Top of the Pops on Christmas Day again. Malcolm Middleton’s festive musical foray, the senstively titled “We're All Going to Die’ has shot from 1000-1 outsider to third favourite in the battle for the top slot. Scot Mills, Colin Murray and Zane Lowe have all been championing the surprisingly upbeat tune in a bid to pip the victor of this year‘s X Factor. Glasgow’s ABC showed its support with a message (pictured). The song is available on 7in and download from 17 December. Middleton will also appear on Colin Murray’s Christmas Special on Radio 1 on the same day. (Mark Robertson)
