Now in their sixth year. The List awards highlight some of the best eating out experiences in Glasgow and lidinburgb. This year. we are pleased to announce the addition of a Readers‘ Award in association with Taste of lidinburgh. as voted for by visitors to The List magazine’s website. www.list.co.uk. as well as the return of the Judges’ Special Award. which recognises the contribution of an establishment. an individual or a family to the food and drink world in Scotland.

‘As well as making an assessment of the calibre of the cuisine. we examine the service. looking for knowledge and personality. and we also consider the ambience and style of each venture. l‘inally. we look at value for money. A memorable

meal out always depends on a restaurant working well on many different levels. so these awards reward the all-round dining experiences.‘

In lidinburgh. The List Readers‘ Award goes to [than Angel with The Dogs and Wedgwood picking tip the awards for Best Newcomers. ln (ilasgow. (iuy‘s Restaurant & Bar in the Merchant (‘ity takes 'l'lu' Us! Readers’ Award. while Nanaktisa and Two l‘at l.adies ((1 'l‘he Buttery take the gongs for the Best Newcomers.

The Judges‘ Special Award went to oyster farmer Andy l.ane for his work with l.och l’yne ()yslers and Loch l‘yne Restaurants and his 'ethical championing of rural Scottish produce in (ireat Britain and internationally.’

GLAMOUR EXPECTED AT EIFF OPENING GALA

I NBFs Keira Knightley and Sienna Miller will inject some glamour into this year’s Edinburgh International Film Festival, following the announcement that they are to join The Edge of Love director John Maybury on the red carpet, at the festival’s Opening Night Gala. Maybury’s film, based on poet Dylan Thomas’ love life, will screen on Wed 18 Jun. EIFF artistic director Hannah McGilI said: ‘I couldn’t be happier. . . [the film] affirms John Maybury as one of our most important directors.’ Tickets for the screening go on sale on Fri 9 May at midday, with the full programme launching on Wed 7 May.
