And it’s farewell to Anthony Minghella (picutred left on the set of The English Patient). Generous, kind and genuinely egalitarian, Minghella was by all

accounts one of the good guys of British cinema. The director died in March at the relatively young age of 54

following complications brought on by surgery. He leaves behind a body of TV and film work from 1990’s Truly Madly Deeply to this year’s The N01 Ladies’ Detective Agency. This one-off screening of his most critically and commercially successful film marks his passing.
