v i ‘3 REASONS TO GO SEE

KING CREOSOTE @ FENCE CLUB 4, THE BULLElT SESS!ONS

1 He’s royalty Kenny Anderson (aka King Creosote) is a local legend responsible, along with his label Fence Records, for a renaissance of Scottish folk, Io-ii, electronica and rock. All done from a bolthole in the East Neuk of Fife. Clever, eh?

2 The first rule of Fence Club . . . is you do not talk about Fence Club. Actually, that‘s bollocks, talk about it all you want, cos it's magic. A semi-regular night of unhinged mayhem, there's always a party spirit. musical surprises and a sense that anything goes.

3 He’s not alone Not only is KC promising to play with ‘some friends’ (The Boss? Kylie?), but two other fantastic acts are appearing. Slow Club are a perky London skiffly outfit with a couple of Moshi Moshi singles under their belts, and Bristolian Rozi Plain is a delicate singer-songwriter with melodies to die for.

4 He’s taking requests KC likes to keep fans happy, so nip over to www.fencerecords.com and post suggestions on the messageboard. There are already five pages. mind. so it's either going to be a long night or he’ll have to be choosy. Let's hope he can find room for his jawdropping cover of ‘Nothing Compares 2 U'.

5 There’s free stuff Everyone who comes along gets an exclusive seven inch single from Fence ReCOrds. not available elsewhere, and those fine folk at Bulleit bourbon are giving away free booze into the bargain. (Doug Johnstone)
