REASONS TO 60 SEE

DAN LE SAC VS SCROOBIUS MP

1 They’re unclassiflsble To some they’re outsider pop, to others they're hip hop played through a punk filter. Then again their recent debut album Angles could easily be called Io-fl electronica mixed with Spoken word poetry. Whatever. the end result is like an intelligent. eloquent, funny. hyperactive wee brother to Mike Skinner.

2 They’re an odd couple Both hailing from Staniord-le-Hope in Essex, the pair couldn't be less like typical Essex boys. Le Sac is a short, stocky silent beatmaster with massive sideboards and a pile of old Casio keyboards, while Pip is a lanky, bearded white trash weirdo, all cheap suit, baseball cap and self- deprecating humour.

3 They encourage murder Last year, their ‘Thou Shall Always Kill’ became a cult hit. A fantastic piece of stream of consciousness blether. it included such gems as 'though shalt not judge Lethal Weapon by Danny Glover’ and ‘though shalt not question Stephen Fry’. It also handily reminded us that ‘The Beatles were just a band'.

4 They’re Godlike geniuses That might be stretching things a little, but their Radiohead-sampling ‘Letter From God to Man' sees Pip take the role of the almighty in a fiercely intelligent and funny diatribe on the nature of mankind.

5 They flunked out of The X Factor Actually, they didn't. but they have made a hilarious spoof audition for the show which you can see on YouTube, where they mercilessly massacre a Snoop Dogg tune. Quality. (Doug Johnstone)
