As one of life's card-carrying devotees of all things floaty, I was more than a little perturbed by the headline ‘Kill All Hippies.‘ Don't get me wrong, I got the music reference but for those who didn’t, you could well have started an anti-hippy bloodbath.

ARTY ENDEAVOURS
After reading a variety of places advertising Art in the Park, we went along this afternoon. We were unaware that you were meant to pre-book beforehand and just turned up. I wanted to let others know that you do need to phone the Park Rangers beforehand.
We were allowed to stay but instead of 20 odd children there were 40-50 and it was a bit too busy. The time was good but it did mean we had to work in groups. Well worth a visit.

Park was far better than any of the other Scottish papers. I‘m still not convinced by The Ting Tings (two hit wonders?) but they are certainly an intriguing concept that I think deserve to be checked out live.
But can I just make a plea to Mr (or Mrs) T in the Park fopr next year? Rage Against the Machine and Biffy Clyro are greatand all but please can we get a bit more metal at T? The Relentless Stage looks promising but go on. take a chance. there's more of us out there than you'd think who would rather enjoy heavy music as part of the mix and not just at a specialist festival.

UP UP AND AWAY
l love superhero movies but after seeing Hancock the other night I'm a bit worried they're running Out of steam over in Hollywoodland. It started so well then just chucked it all away after about the half way mark (as did The Hulk and even Iron Man to an extent). Though like a fool every time they plunder DC or Marvel‘s back catalogues for ideas I’ll be first in the queue. I‘m just waiting for Squirrel Girl (yes. she is a genuine superhero) the movie.
