Alan Wilkins triumphed in this year’s Critics' Awards for Theatre in Scotland as the author of Carthage Must Be Destroyed, a knotty drama about the political mindset. Now he’s teamed up
with Glasgow’s Birds of Paradise, a company dedicated to putting ‘disability in the public arena’, for a play about a rural community desperate to reinvent itself after the young people have left and the sea is depleted of fish. When newcomers arrive, they threaten to change the vulnerable village forever.
