Three Scottish Clubbing institutions hit big milestones this month: rock club The Cathouse is 18, the Art School's regular soul night Divine is 18, and Slam's techno hoedown Pressure is 10.

We asked three regular punters just why they love these ClUbS so much

‘l'ye been going to The (‘athouse since it started in Brown Street. and | retnember the first time I went. which was back when l was a young Zl- year-old. lt l’elt as il~ I was in a club in America somewhere. or on the set for a rock yideo. The guys were wearing make-up and looked as if they had spent more time on their hair than most ol' the girls. but this was in the days of spandex. Motley ('riie and (iuns .\" Roses. l eyen remember meeting a bloke in the ladies loo and borrowing his black eyeliner. Times haye changed though and there aren‘t as many men wearing make-up these days. but the great thing is that anything goes in the Cathouse. which is what makes it so special. ll‘ you‘re a wee bit different then hey. that's eyen better.

it is like no other club in the world. he been to plenty ol' rock clubs and pubs oyer the years. bill you neyer lind a better crowd of people and atmosphere than The (‘athouse in l'nion Street. I‘m sure eyeryone who frequents the place will agree with me.

It caters l‘or an alternatiye genre who are into their music and style in a big way. 'l‘here's always a great atmosphere and there’s neyer any trouble. The music plays an important role because it‘s the only club in (ilasgow consistently churning ottt rock. indie and alternative tunes. It's also been a platl‘orm l'or
