TURNER IN JANUARY

Ring in the New Year in traditional style by visiting the annual display of Turner watercolours at the BSA. The 38 works span JMW Turner’s (1775-1851) long and fruitful career, from his early topographical wash d awings to the later atmospheric sketches of continental Europe. The works were bequeathed to the galleries by Henry Vaughan, who stipulated that the delicate watercolours only be shown in January when natu al daylight is at its weakest so they would not fade.

I Royal Scottish Academy, Edinburgh, until Sat 31 Jan.
