Lemar. who recently performed at the SliC‘C. said: ‘Bringing the MOM) awards here to (ilasgow. a city with such a strong and vibrant music scene. is the perfect fit. I love touring in the l'K and the welcome I receive when I come to Scotland is incredible.‘

The event will be broadcast live in September to a global audience.
DUMFRIES FILM FESTIVAL
I The Dumfries Film Festival (1-4 May) is back with a vengeance with a ‘Made in Dumfries and Galloway’ strand celebrating the region’s landscape and showcasing film made there. Special guests include presenter Neil Oliver and Charles Jencks, who will introduce a documentary about his sublime Garden of Cosmic Speculation at Portrack just outside Dumfries.

Hebndes Ensemble has been shortlisted for a Royal Philharmonic Society (RPS) Music Award. It is listed in the Chamber Music category alongside two other leading names in British Music: the Britten Sinfonia and Wigmore Hall. The winners of these, the 20th RPS Music Awards, will be announced at London's Dorchester Hotel on Tue 12 May.

EIFF GALA LINE- UP ANNOUNCED . Academy Award winner Sam Mendes, director of American Beauty, Revolutionary Road and Road to Perdition will showcase his new movie Away We Go on Wed 17 Jun at the premiere of this year’s Edinburgh International Film Festival. It is hoped the director will be accompanied by his wife Kate Winslet, and stars of the film Jeff Daniels, Maggie Gyllenhaal and John Krasinski (of the US version of The Office). Mendes said: ‘I was last in Edinburgh in 1987 at the Fringe, and most nights the cast outnumbered the audience.
