Munro’s new work, based on the historical account of Janet Horne, the last woman to be executed for witchcraft in Scotland. Walden Thu 13–Sat 15 Aug. 7.30pm (Sat mat 3pm). £10 (£8). Walden, Henry David Thoreau’s account of his life in the woods, is one of the most extraordinary and unclassifiable books ever written. Magnetic North’s adaptation reflects the book’s many facets and contradictions in a piece of theatre created for non-theatre spaces that is part performance, part philosophy class.

Whoever knew that a HANDBAG could cause so much trouble? Puns abound in Oscar Wilde’s classic and a daft succession of improbable coincidences leads inevitably to the happy ending.
