GSA GRADUATE FASHION

Woolly thinking

Glasgow School of Art’s postgraduate textile design course is a breeding ground for exciting, artistic fashion. We snuck into their studios to find the knits and textures of the future Words: Kirstin Innes Photographer: Jannica Honey; Model: Barbara @ Model Team; Venue: Mackintosh Gallery, Glasgow School of Art, Glasgow

O ver the years, Glasgow School of Art’s prestigious Masters in Textiles as Fashion has produced some properly pioneering designers: from internationally-recognised names like Jonathan Saunders and Pam

Hogg to The List’s current favourites, upcoming womenswear designer Jamie Bruski Tetsill and innovative hosiery-makers, Bebaroque. As the current crop of graduates prepare for their Promenade, we took a look into their studios and found a stunningly diverse range of approaches: knitwear specialists, cutting- edge digital printers, Elizabethan-era inspired jewellery and some really gorgeous silhouettes. Have a look.

Masters’ Fashion Promenade, Mackintosh Gallery, Glasgow School of Art, Thu 3 Sep. Showings at 7pm and 8pm. Tickets £5, available from the GSA Shop on 0141 353 4526.
