First You’re Born at the Byre! Plutôt La Vie’s follow-up to the highly acclaimed A
Clean Sweep is the UK premiere of innovative Danish playwright Line Knutzon’s absurd romantic comedy. The piece follows six characters, including a pair of lovers and two agoraphobic sisters, as they stumble out of their apartments and into each other, become romantically involved and split apart, Knutzon providing an offbeat take on love, loss and loneliness. ■ Byre Theatre, St Andrews, until Fri 28 Aug.

Kirsty Crawford’s winning entry in the 2008 ‘The Write Idea’ competition deals with the complexities of growing up and the shock of having the responsibility of parenthood thrust upon oneself at a young age, and the big question of fate.

This tale of six social misfits stumbling between love and loneliness is presented by theatre company Plutot la Vie.
