WIN DANCE MIX CDS

New State Records are the grand masters of the dance compilation and unleash another three multi-disc stoaters on our tiny battered earholes this month. The first, Haçienda Acid House Classics is a two disc mix reviewed on page 64 compiled by Peter Hook (for

more from him see First Word, page 2). Next is the second in the not-so-subtle Hardcore Til I Die series, three discs of full-on bouncing beats from Re-Con and Squad-E. The last one comes from the ever reliable Hospitality stable, a two-disc collection emphatically titled This is Drum + Bass mixed by London Elektricity and High Contrast. See below on how to get your hands on these albums. KILL IT KID ALBUMS AND TICKETS

This young English quintet were described by Q as a ‘vibrant blend of The White Stripes, barn dances and the Stephanne Grappelli-like fiddle- frenzy jazz/blues’. They unleash their eponymous debut album on 5 October via One Little Indian and play Edinburgh’s Cabaret Voltaire on 7 October and the Captain’s Rest in Glasgow the night after. Should you fancy a copy of the album and two tickets to either the Glasgow or Edinburgh show then just follow the instructions below.
