LIVE FLESH Re: Creeping Bent Records showcase I saw Flesh's first live gig on 31st Oct in Stereo and was really impressed. Sharon Martin was really good. Her voice fits in well with the tracks. I had only seen her perform her own stuff in an acoustic set up – which is great too – but as frontwoman of Flesh she looked and sounded amazing. Look forward to this gig! NOT SO KILLER QUEEN Re: We Will Rock You My daughter very kindly got me a ticket recently for We Will Rock You at the Playhouse. As a Queen – and more specifically Freddie Mercury – fan, I was excited. But to say I was bemused by your four star review is an understatement. I know it's all subjective but the night we went half the Queen camp were there and did a guest slot for a song at the end. I hasten to add this is not something most ticket holders on any other night will be privy to. And even this couldn't save it.
This would surely make Freddie turn in his grave. My daughter and I laughed our way through it (not in a good way), as some albeit great singers were forced to limp their way through a lacklustre script. Elton's story was dated and utterly uninspired. The dancing wasn't exceptional and the audience not nearly as enthused as you might hope. I am normally strongly in agreement with The List's musical coverage – understanding as it does that it takes the whole package to make a musical a success – but I just found this review painfully innacurate.

My friends and I spent a good deal of time poring over it and – as you can imagine – raising a few eyebrows about some of your choices.
