Wicked Christmas Until Sat 19 Dec. 7.30pm (also Sat 9.30pm). £10. A drier- than-your-turkey take on Cinderella from the Citizens Community Company. Adults only!

Dave Anderson and David MacLennan collaborate on a twisted version of the classic Dickens tale, with current political and economic issues seeping into the panto-style show. Paisley-based PACE Theatre Company presents its annual panto this time the tale of Sleeping Beauty and her long lie-down with laughs aplenty.

Scripted by Random Accomplice’s Johnny McKnight and directed by Alasdair Satchel, the cast includes former River City star John Paul McGilvray (Prince Charming), Cat Grozier and Chris Alexander.

Hum along with singing candlesticks, boorish suitors and pitchfork wielding provincials as the West End stage adaptation of Disney’s Oscar-winning feature film comes to Scotland.

The classic ballet with Tchaikovsky’s magnificent score is choreographed for the Scottish Ballet by Ashley Page, whose contemporary retelling combines the fairy tale world with Weimar Germany to surreal and magical effect.
