WIN TICKETS TO THE LIST SURPRISE FILM

The Glasgow Film Festival (18–28 Feb) is back and we have 25 pairs of tickets to give away to The List Surprise Film on Saturday 27 February. To paraphrase Forrest Gump, ‘The Surprise Film is like a box of

chocolates you never know what you’re gonna get.’ Last year we even surprised ourselves by showing O’Horten which proved to be one of the year’s loveliest foreign-language films. Previous surprises include Inland Empire and Son Of Rambow. Maybe it really is time for a great big Hollywood blockbuster?

On the other hand there are so many fine films from the Soviet silent era

that deserve to be much better known. Hazelnut heaven or caramel caress? You will only find out on the night. To enter, just log on to www.list.co.uk/offers and tell us:

What was last year’s Surprise Film?

The List Reader Award is back. In association with Taste of Edinburgh, the food and drink festival showcasing Edinburgh's restaurant and Scotland's food and drink scene for 2010, we want you to tell us what your favourite restaurant is. Just log on to www.list.co.uk/nominate between now and Wednesday 14 April and tell us what your favourite restaurant in Edinburgh or Glasgow is. When you vote you'll be entered into a prize draw to win a trip for two to Taste of London (Thu 17–Sun 20 Jun) including two nights accommodation courtesy of The Cavendish London and a first class return ticket for two between Edinburgh/Glasgow and London Kings Cross.

The four-star deluxe The Cavendish London is a contemporary hotel situated on London’s prestigious Jermyn Street. The hotel’s location on this quiet street behind Fortnum & Mason makes it perfect for visiting the shops and boutiques of Bond and Regent Street, as well as being only five minutes walk from Green Park, Piccadilly Circus and West End Theatres. East Coast operates high-speed train services along the East Coast Main Line linking Scotland with the North East of England, Yorkshire, East Midlands and London Kings Cross. Advance returns between Edinburgh/Glasgow and London Kings Cross, booked online, start from £33 Standard Class or £105 First Class.

Lucky runners-up will win VIP tickets to Taste of Edinburgh which is taking place in Inverleith Park from Friday 28–Sunday 30 May 2010. We will announce the winning venues in our brand new edition of the Eating & Drinking Guide, out on Wednesday 28 April.
