Efterklang with Slaraffenland In these cynical times of divas, drugs and *sigh* the

reformed Libertines, it’s nice to see some bands who are happy just hanging out with their mates. Both Efterklang and Slaraffenland are made up of members who have known each other since childhood, creating a warmth between them that’s conveyed through their lush, cosy musical style. When they played together in 2008, the two Danish bands merged to become a 12-man monster hybrid band; SlaraffenKLANG. While we can’t guarantee that this will take place on Cab Vol’s tiny stage, each group is so overflowing with charm, and quirky rock and electroacoustic sounds, both their sets should be well worth checking out anyway. Cabaret Voltaire, Edinburgh, Fri 23 Apr.
