The Burns Unit Out of cooperative music project ‘Burnsong’ springs The Burns Unit, a band best described as a ‘folk supergroup’ although such a title conveys a false sense of

egotism about the members involved. The roster includes some of the shining lights of indie-folk nobility: King Creosote, Karine Polwart and Emma Pollock all lend their considerable talents, alongside Indo-Caledonian pop artist Future Pilot AKA, virtuosic rapper MC Soom T and a few other contributors. See our review of the debut album Side Show page 66. Queen’s Hall, Edinburgh, Mon 9 Aug.
