Who better to ask than Maf, the dog given to Marilyn Monroe by Frank Sinatra in 1960, and the narrator of Andrew O’Hagan’s new novel? The Life and Opinions of Maf the Dog has already been called an international classic, full of philosophy, comedy and heartbreak. In this special live event, O’Hagan is joined by actors Ian McDiarmid, Andrew Hawley and Suzanne Bertish to perform scenes from the novel. Chaired by Diana Hope.

Now, in The Stars in the Bright Sky, the gang are in their early twenties and they’re planning a reunion. With holiday bags packed, the young women must decide which ultra-cheap flight they’ll take for a fortnight of debauchery in the sun. Warner discusses his new book and his involvement in the Book Festival’s commissioned writing project, for which he has created a story on the theme of Elsewhere.
