Edinburgh’s year round comedy club is right at the heart of the fringe with a superb line-up of stand up comedy from home and abroad. The Stand is always great value but now List readers can get the chance to see three of our premium shows for even less. Paul Sinha Extreme anti-white vitriol 10.40pm

Edinburgh favourite Paul Sinha has spent much of the previous decade garnering rave reviews for his self- deprecating tales of his life as a GP, lovelorn gay bachelor, quiz fanatic and social coward. This year, he doesn’t want to discuss turning forty, because he has bigger fish to fry. A racist called him a racist. Paul would like to fight back. Superlative political satire.

Simon Munnery Self employed 3.40pm After six years of hosting his Annual General Meeting, fringe legend Munnery is back with a new hour of polished stand-up. Brilliant one- liners and dazzling flights of fancy from the comedians’ favourite comedian. Phil Nichol Welcome to Crazytown 6.50pm

January 19th 1974, legendary Beat poet Bobby Spade performed his magnum opus ‘Welcome to Crazytown’ at Baltimore’s famous jazz club, Bertha’s. That show ended in near tragedy. Phil Nichol recreates that event. ‘... the perfect vehicle for substantial lyrical gifts . . . Misogynistic, lecherous, unnerving, and deeply, consistently funny.’ ***** The List
