Emma Wilson: Pumpkinsputnik Pumpkinsputnik is the creative outlet of Emma Wilson, designer- maker. Emma graduated from Gray’s School of Art in Aberdeen in 1995 and became a jeweller, making silver and enamel jewellery, before taking a career break to raise her young family. Pumpkinsputnik was born in 2005 out of a need to start making things again, and produces beautiful handmade notebooks and stationery. The books have soft covers made from watercolour card, are filled with good quality cartridge paper and sewn together with paper string. The covers, cards and stationery are printed with designs based on Emma’s photographs of trees and plants which she manipulates in imaging software. Emma likes to mix new technologies with traditional techniques, so although the images are completely digital and are printed with a top of the range printer, the books are bound in a very simple and traditional way. www.pumpkinsputnik.com www.thisiscentralstation.com
