■ We like hearing of new ways to consume our music. As a phone download, in a performance-only-never-to-be-recorded format, on a dictaphone tape, as a free gift when buying trainers . . . Eh, say what? Yes, the latter is an ingenious ploy from Animal Collective, who have designed a range of shoes for Keep (priced $75), which come with a free cassette of unreleased music. The Canary Islands- raised musician (real name, Pablo Diaz- Reixa, pictured) wrote ‘Bombay’ after a night on the Bombay Sapphire, and we very much like the tropical, surreal, Jodorowsky- style results.
