Originally from Benbecula in the Western Isles, Martin Campbell now lives in Glasgow and is currently in his final year of the product design course at Edinburgh College of Art. As part of his final year project he is looking at ways of getting people more involved in the design process, including means testing ‘speed creating’ workshops in which people are invited to use fast reacting materials in a frenzied approach to making. The main aim of these workshops is to get input from others, to encourage artists to make things instinctively and make decisions and solve problems quickly. Martin believes that some things can only be discovered by getting your hands dirty and just doing it. ‘For me this is a really exciting way to work,’ he says. Martin will be updating his final year project as it progresses at www.martinjcampbell.co.uk www.thisiscentralstation.com
