Eschewing the hirsute headbanger image beloved of metal bands through the ages, Helmet have formed an enduring legacy while dressing in Converse and T-shirts, and popping up on soundtracks for film (most recently Saw III) and games (Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas and Guitar Hero, among others). Despite a four- year break and what seems to be a revolving door band member policy vocalist/guitarist Page Hamilton is the only original member they’re sure to get a warm welcome; listen out for signature tune, ‘Unsung’. Cathouse, Glasgow, Fri 17 Dec.
