The first exhibition in the UK by French painter and illustrator Philippe is a selection of new and existing drawings and a large wall painting made especially for the exhibition by the artist. Like many artists of the ‘Figuration libre’ generation Lagautrière’s work is distinguished by a strong desire to conquer public spaces and his work is often inspired by images from childhood drawn from books, gardens and mythology.
