As always, the focus at GFF is not just on watching films, but also on getting involved with workshops and discussions, and meeting the people behind the rich and lively film culture on show at the festival. Among the highlights are a comic book workshop with Kick-Ass creator Mark Millar, a discussion on fashion in film with designer Pam Hogg, and a panel discussion about whether filmmaking is a career choice open only to a very narrow social group.
