Ryan Hays VisualArt

Ryan Hays graduated from Duncan of Jordanstone in 2006 then shortly afterwards relocated to Glasgow where he began exhibiting and curating larger shows such as the multi-medium art event A Wee Tasty in 2009.

Two years ago he relocated to Berlin and helped create the artist network Unatittel, which is committed to supporting artists’ and curators’ productions throughout Europe. Since then he has exhibited several times in Berlin, Hamburg, London and Sydney and is currently working towards his first solo show later this year.

Ryan’s work, though multi-disciplinary, focuses largely on painting. He is interested in deconstructing the labored conventions of human perception and attempting to challenge the typical assumptions and responses we have to the visual, by contradicting the typical rules of pictorial representation. He believes that by attempting a less humanistic perspective on the world we will achieve a greater understanding of how it functions. www.ryanhays.co.uk www.thisiscentralstation.com
