NAME: Brian Proudfoot SHOP: GOODD

JOB: Director We offer a carefully curated selection of products and accessories manufactured by world-leading, contemporary brands who, in turn, work with leading international designers from the past and present. We also like to work with talented and emerging young designers by presenting their work or by commissioning new products under our own brand name. Our range covers stationery and jewellery, through to larger homeware items like furniture and lighting. We have some great acrylic jewellery just now, by a young designer, Inca Starzinsky. Based on hand shadow animals, it’s a unique set of acrylic rings and pendants, all beautifully packaged. We opened in 2008 on James Morrison Street, and moved to new premises last September, sharing a space with NORD Architects, opposite The Briggait. We’re often talking with our friends about how we can collaborate to bring something different to the high street. The best part of my job is having a customer excited about one of the designers we represent in our collection that’s really rewarding. GOODD Ltd, Glassworks Studios, 3–5 Aird’s Lane, Glasgow, 552 6777, good-d.com. Goodd have an exhibition in May, showcasing the design work of their neighbours, NORD Architects, who are showing a furniture collection at the Milan Furniture Fair this month.
