The cutely-monikered Dee Dee, Jules, Bambi and Sandy have a special place in their hearts for the Scottish indie scene – their band name is taken from The Vaselines’ album Dum-Dum and Iggy Pop’s ‘Dum Dum Boys’. It’s a win-win: the Sub Poppers get to visit the homeland of great indie-garage, and we get to bask blissfully in their LA-born, summery Beach Boys-pop-meets-punk-rock music. They’re supported on their latest UK tour by London quartet Mazes, whose lo-fi indie is imbued with good-natured flecks of punk. ■ Stereo, Glasgow, Sun 3 Apr.
