Art park in bloom Jupiter Artland opens its season with a new Charles Jencks exhibition

Y ou know that spring has sprung when Jupiter Artland opens its doors with a new season and this year’s artistic bloom looks to be just as vibrant as their last. Launching with special exhibition Metaphysical Landscape (pictured) by landform artist, philosopher, collaborator and architect Charles Jencks, Jupiter’s latest instalment showcases never before seen studio works by Jencks, as well as complementing

the existing Jencks sculpture, which sits at the park’s gateway. Look out too for a new piece by Andy Goldsworthy, as well as the permanent works on display by Anthony Gormley, Laura Ford, Anish Kapoor and Marc Quinn. NewsExtra CURTAIN UP ON THEATRICAL PARTNERSHIP

It’s all happening at the Royal Lyceum Theatre. Not only have they announced a two-year partnership with Dundee Rep beginning with a production of Mary Queen of Scots Got Her Head Chopped Off, they have also released a heads- up on their 2011/12 season. Look out for the world premiere of The Infamous Brothers Davenport, a contemporary take on The Marriage of Figaro and black comedy The Lieutenant of Inishmore. Plus they’ll be unveiling their first Edinburgh Fringe show, Wondrous Flitting (pictured), in August. See lyceum.org.uk for more details.
