City Halls, Candleriggs, 353 8000. With Aaron Sorkin and Mike Leigh avowed fans, a Gilbert & Sullivan revival is surely on the way. Anyone who’s ever wanted to be a policeman, a pirate or the daughter of a Major General should email ssooutreach@bbc.co.uk for a chance to join the BBC SSO and BBC Singers in a mid-morning blast of one of G&S’s funniest works. This is not a concert; no previous experience of choral singing is necessary, but the ability to read a score would be helpful. FREE Monathon Sat 25 Jun, 10.30am–5pm. If you’ve not been to one of these before (wherever have you been?), let us explain: the day involves lots of artists busily making monotype prints in the GPS workshop, from dawn ’til dusk (- ish), and you can come and watch. There’s also the chance to look round the current exhibition, Contemporary Monotypes, and buy some works hot off the press, straight from the artists. FREE Govanhill Baths Community Trust Celebrates Refugee Week Sat 25 Jun, 11am–4pm. Govanhill Baths, Calder Street, 433 2999. The talents of Govanhill residents in music, song, dance, cuisine and art are on show in the Peace Garden and baths, with nods both to Refugee Week and the 10th anniversary of Govanhill Baths Community Trust’s fight to reopen this beautiful building. stalls and virtual treasure hunts is a sure way to attract attention. On the music bill so far are Sonny Marvello, The Sweetheart Revue, The Chihuahuas, Roy Moller, Scott Peden, Miaoux Miaoux and DJs from the Sub Club. Not content with an official after-party at the Ivy from 9pm, the Hidden Laners will be leading their merry band of followers down the road to the Sub Club for an after after party from midnight.
